WHERE ARE YOU BASED?
I am based in Kingston Bagpuize, Abingdon and cover Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
WHAT HAPPENS IN A COUNSELLING SESSION?
We will spend 50 minutes together in a private room where you can talk about anything you wish. I won’t judge you, and I won’t tell you what to do. Sometimes I may use different tools to help with your self-exploration, this can include creative therapy (stone work, imagery etc) or after session tasks. As an integrative counsellor, I will tailor the therapeutic methods to your individual needs.
CAN I REALLY TALK ABOUT ANYTHING I LIKE?
Yes you can. Our relationship is confidential, unless you were to tell me that you were involved in causing serious harm to someone or to yourself, in a way that could put life in danger, or if you disclosed recent or ongoing serious child abuse. I can give you further details on the limits to confidentiality when you book your first session and I provide you with the contract.
DO YOU TALK TO ANYONE ELSE ABOUT ME?
All professional counsellors are required to have regular case supervision to ensure best practice and safety for our clients. I meet regularly with another experienced counsellor who is trained in supervision for this purpose, but clients’ personal details are not revealed during these meetings.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
Every client is different and I do not set a limit on how many or few you will need. I can offer weekday afternoon and evening appointments.
HOW LONG ARE THE SESSIONS?
Each session will last for 50 minutes. Experience has shown that this is a manageable time for both client and counsellor. It is important that time boundaries are adhered to, and if, unfortunately, you are late, the session will still finish at the original time.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
Fees are £65 per session for individuals. I do not offer couples counselling at this time. The fee should be paid before each session, this can be done before your arrival or when you are with me (I accept cash or bank transfer). I reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee to cover room hire and other related costs if the session is cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment or you fail to arrive. The terms of this will be provided to you within our counselling contract.
